If the answers are yes…..Then I have some tips for you as this is something that I talk with our clients about daily. It’s perfectly normally to have those concerns and want the best care possible for yourself to get better.
After hand or wrist surgery you must be really worried or fearful that you won’t be able to get rid of that pain and get back to normal life BUT I am here to tell you that is 100% possible with the right occupational therapy center!
These are 3 key questions that I would encourage you to ask to make sure you are getting the BEST possible care!
- Can you talk to the therapist before booking? Get to know your occupational or physical therapist before booking so that you can feel comfortable about the care that you want to receive.
- Have they treated your kind of injury before? After hand and wrist surgery, working with a certified hand therapist can be key to making sure that you avoid complications in order to get better faster!
- Ask about the general protocol of when to get started. It is key to recovery, the sooner the better and some hand surgeries are time sensitive.
I unfortunately talk to a lot of our clients that were previously disappointed with their therapy services and these are the questions that I encourage them to ask me or bring up with them.
I want to make sure we are the BEST people to be able to help THEM. I know there’s a lot of fear after hand and wrist surgery and I want to put them at ease. I also want to let them know that there is a plan that can help them get better.
No one wants to waste time or money….and when I talk to those that are frustrated and come to us after being somewhere else, this is what they are most frustrated with …wasting time and money….wishing they had asked these questions before.
So make sure you ask.
