How DO you know if you know you have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Well….let me start my telling you a story…..
One of the great things about social media is that it makes it so easy to communicate with everyone you know even if you are not such “great” friends. But they can feel confident that they can reach out to you if they have a question.
I am lucky to have many people like that from a professional stand point. Other occupational therapist that know they can always count on me to ask questions or me to them. In general though, this is not the normal case for everyone.
Just this week, a fellow Occupational Therapist asked me to help a good friend of hers with carpal tunnel. So I said, instead of going back and forth with each other, let me email her directly. There’s just so much information that Dr. Google can provide, because let’s face….we all search the internet for everything BEFORE going to the doctor or other health professionals!! I get it! I do that too!!
See, she’s a mother of 3 young kids….and you know what the means….LOTS and LOTS of WORK!! And not just work but work with your hands and arms. Also your body goes through so many changes having given birth and we all know as mothers, we are so busy taking care of everyone else that we don’t always do the best with taking care of US!
Turns out she told me that she has carpal tunnel and has been using a splint and going to the chiro but her hand pain and numbness has been getting worst.
One of the things that I have noticed in the many, many years of talking to people about their hand pain is that everyone thinks they have carpal tunnel. I am not kidding you.
Not only is there a ton of information on the web, BUT so much of the information is so….MEDICAL…and it’s talking about injections and surgery….but what if you want to get a little help before HAVING to explore that? Then where do you go to get that kind of information?
Well here at Hands on Therapy Services, we want to be able to give you that information for FREE! So that it can help you make the BEST decisions for YOU.
I just finished writing an E-Book all about Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. In the E-Book it will talk about some of the symptoms such as NUMBNESS AND TINGLING.
It’s also got tons of that tips you can use right away! AND my number ONE way to AVOID carpal tunnel surgery is in there too.
They are helpful tips to get you started. But one of most important things about carpal tunnel, is 1st know for sure if you DO HAVE carpal tunnel and also RULING OUT other things that could be causing you to have pain in your hands. We also need to find out what might be CAUSING your pain so we can help to get rid of it and get rid of the hand problem once and for all!!
Lots of people just start wearing these splints that can be purchased at the store without know when to wear, how long to wear it, and these things can cause even MORE damage in the LONG RUN. NOT doing the RIGHT thing can cause you to:
- Have MORE pain and numbness
- Take LONGER to get rid of once you do figure it out
- Worst case scenario is needing to have surgery for something that you can
If you have hand numbness and tingling and not sure what to do….go ahead and grab my Free Carpal Tunnel E-Book just to get you started. It’s easy and effective, giving you the TOP TIPS that I give my current and past clients every day for the past 20 years!
