How to Tape / Buddy Tape a Broken Finger

If you’ve broken a finger and you’re cleared to start moving again, buddy taping can help the uninjured finger guide the injured one—so you can move better, reduce stiffness, and retrain your hand safely.
In this video, I show:
✔️ When to use buddy loops
✔️ Which fingers to pair together
✔️ The correct placement
✔️ How tight to make it
✔️ When to stop using buddy straps so you don’t become dependent on them
We use this technique early in rehab for finger fractures, tendon injuries, and stiff joints—but it’s not a long-term fix. Just a gentle way to help the brain reconnect to the movement.
If you're in Miami and dealing with a broken finger or hand pain, our clinic offers specialized hand therapy and regenerative treatments such as shockwave and EMTT to help you recover safely and fully.
