How to Treat a Sprained Wrist

You want quick fixes when you get hurt. When it comes to sprains and strains, it just seems so confusing because – it’s not broken, it’s not torn….but yet it keeps hurting.

WHY?

No two injuries are the same. This is especially true for ANY sprains and strains.

What happens with the wrist though when there’s a wrist sprain?

The wrist is made up of 8 small bones that are like little pebbles. It’s all held together by short and tight ligaments – which is what gives you stability. When you have stability, you are able to move, grip, put weight through your wrist without any problems.

When those ligaments get over stretched, have small micro tears…it also throws off the balance of how your muscles work. Not just of the hand and wrist muscles, but it can through the balance of your elbow and shoulder.

It’s all connected. You might understand that but it’s a little hard to really understand unless you work in it all day like I do.
