Frustrated by that pain digging in deep in between your shoulder blades?
Or do you feel it more in the middle of your back?
Wondering if massages can help?
Well… massages feel really awesome but the thing is… its results don’t last.
When it comes to pain and tightness that just doesn’t go away… there may be another problem. Aren’t you thinking: “oh that’s just where I’m always tight because of stress.”?
That tightness and pain is the symptom of something else going on in there.
Don’t wait until the pain stops you from getting a good night sleep or being active!
Imagine how well you could sleep without that pain and discomfort from your shoulders or the middle of your back?
As hand therapists in the Miami area, we work with patients suffering from pain of various aetiologies.
One of our clients came in for that very same thing and using a massage gun or getting massages may make it feel good but it didn’t loosen up all the pain. It certainly doesn’t keep it away. Turns out certain joints along his lower back and upper back were the reasons for that pain continuing. Not only was his spine not moving in all directions…when there’s an imbalance in the muscles.
I always say: muscles only get long and only get short. When they are not moving well together – that’s what can cause persistent pain or discomfort.
So try out your stretches, or foam roller, or massages because they just feel dang good. But if that tightness or pain is persistent – then just know it might be a problem somewhere else.
