Is your wrist pain getting worse no matter what you have done?
You have tried ice, heat, braces, and been to places that use machines that zap like e-stim or ultrasound? You have tried injections and nothing seems to work.
Here are 4 things we look at when I work with wrist pain that’s chronic or insidious meaning it came out of nowhere. You didn’t fall…you didn’t break anything.
1. We check the wrist
it’s complex…there’s ligaments inside the wrist that we test and look at to see if it causes you pain.
Ligaments hold bone to bone together and give the wrist stability. We check to make sure those ligaments are intact and the bones are moving the way they need to move. That’s called provocative testing.
2. We check for muscles inside the hand for tightness, weakness, or both.
Muscles only get long and get short. Even the small ones can be tight and weak, which means they just don’t move as well as they should.
3. We check for wrist muscles that start at the elbow and end in the wrist or hand.
There’s usually an imbalance of how they work versus muscles just being “weak”.
4. Lastly, we check the muscles that go from the shoulder to the elbow.
The biceps crosses both the shoulder and the elbow and can sometimes be the reason that wrist pain is caused.
We can help you get clear on what’s wrong and get you the right help.
If you didn’t fall and don’t plan on having surgery…you don’t need to get an MRI to get started.
We do a thorough assessment to get to the root cause of why your wrist hurts out of nowhere.
I don’t accept the “overuse” excuse. We are meant to use our hands and arms…there’s no “overuse” because if we accepted that…that would mean we can’t do anything about it and that we would have to stop using our hands and wrist.
There’s something wrong…your body is telling you. Listen to it…and come get a full assessment with us at Hands-On Therapy Services. We specialize in treating hands and arms all day every day, and we’ll get to the root cause of your wrist pain.
Why to choose Hands-On Therapy over other therapy clinics?

Yes…you might have tried other therapy clinics or even chiros. You might have been told by doctors that it will go away on its own or to just use your hands less.
This is why we offer free Discovery Visits….allows you to come in and talk with our specialists…ask as many questions as you need to get clear on how we help.
Yes…most people think they need an MRI – but MRI’s are not the best at telling you what’s wrong with your wrist. Clinical testing and therapy are the usual first steps which follow the science-backed protocol.
Making sure you go to the right therapist who’s specialized in wrist injuries can help save you time and money in the long run.
Besides the provocative testing…checking your joints, your ligaments, your muscles, how you move as compared to the other side of your body. We use a hands-on approach to treatment. We don’t just set you up and forget you.
The order in exercises and stretches plays a role on how to get rid of pain, and determines how long you can keep the results. We can’t do it alone…the results that we can achieve with you is dependent on how committed you are to getting the results.
If you continue to have wrist pain…even if it’s been months or years…request a Discovery Visit. It’s an opportunity for you to talk to one of my specialists and we can discuss if you are a candidate for our services.
